A 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to empowering individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities since 1993.
OUR STORY
Center for Social Change (CSC) is a board-driven organization with 501(c)(3) status under the IRS code. Since 1993, it has been providing residential, vocational, supported employment, medical adult day, therapeutic integration for children with autism, volunteering opportunities, and advocacy to individuals with intellectual disabilities.
The first individuals CSC supported residentially came from Rosewood Center, Maryland's largest State institution. After living in institutions for 30–40 years, they were successfully integrated into the community and today enjoy making choices about menus, activities, and the decor of their own homes.
“CSC is one of the few providers in Maryland to have earned CARF accreditation in all our programs — the highest standard of quality in human services.”
We promote the empowerment, personal growth, choice, rights, and productivity of every individual we serve. We support families of individuals with developmental disabilities — strengthening family units and encouraging family-based care.
Every person deserves dignity, choice, and the opportunity to live as independently as possible. Our staff are certified by the Maryland Board of Nursing, hold CPR and First Aid certificates, and receive individualized behavioral training.
